Welcome to Spring Valley!
Who We Are
Spring Valley Neighborhood Association (SVNA) was formed in 1996 as a grassroots organization of the neighbors within its boundaries, including homeowners, renters, and businesses. If you live, work, or own property within SVNA’s boundaries, you are part of SVNA. SVNA has bylaws and elects officers from the neighborhood to provide a basis for communication and grant applications for neighborhood projects. Elected officers are unpaid volunteers who seek to foster a sense of community within the neighborhood by organizing communication methods, neighborhood meetings, and social events. Officers also provide a conduit for communication between the neighborhood and others, such as Unified Government departments, KCKPD community policing, elected officials, developers, and others. When necessary or beneficial, SVNA seeks to inform neighbors about development or other issues directly impacting the neighborhood, gather their collective voices, and provide a cohesive summary of the neighborhood’s priorities to those with decision-making power.
